always been a huge part of my life but it wasnâ t until this year where I actually started making something of my designs I believe I truly started designing because I found it was one of the very few things I was passionate about and I loved the fact I found something so special to me at such a young age What inspires your designs My designs in Kaitlyn Taylor Designs are inspired by music and a desire to be the greatest version of yourself Whether these designs were inspired by negative events or positive ones every time I look at them I see how much I have grown as an individual during the last few years What do you want someone who wears your t shirt to feel about your design I want whoever wears my designs to feel like they are a part of society I want them to feel like no matter what obstacles they have to face that they can overcome them I guess the true meaning I want my designs to display is being comfortable in your own skin and being proud of the person you are in this moment rather than the person you were or the things you had to deal with to get where you are now Can you speak to some of the symbols you use what do they represent Some of the symbols I use in my designs such as the infinity sign and the dream catcher represent everything coming together for the best They re very important to me because I honestly never thought anyone would even like my designs and now the fact I am getting orders in and being noticed for them it s truly unbelievable and reinforces the fact to me that things get better they always do Do you have a personal favorite t shirt design and why At the moment I think my favorite t shirt is the Catch Up to Your Dreams design with the dream catcher I just love the way it came together and how different it is from anything I ve ever done before I think it s my favorite because of the fact that this is my dream and I m beginning to live it out everyday which is unbelievable How do you feel your designs can make an impact I hope that my designs will bring awareness to depression especially within teenagers I want my designs to show people that you can do anything if you put your mind to it and I hope Kaitlyn Taylor Designs gives out that impression How did you hear about mindyourmind and why did you decide to contribute to the program Even before I decided to start up Kaitlyn Taylor Designs I was extremly passionate about finding a way to help bring awareness to the ongoing issue of teenage depression Depression has affected myself and the people around me and when I found mindyourmind while doing research on the issue I

feel horrible out of the sight of others I do think comedy is a coping tool who doesn t like to go see a funny movie or be around fun people when one is feeling down Your highly acclaimed podcast Never Not Funny was really the first of its kind and grew organically to the status that it now has amongst podcasts in general Did you ever see the show that you started in your dining room growing the way it has A I appreciate the kind words B I really didn t I ve said it before I wasn t sure what I was even getting myself into I was between TV jobs and was looking for another way to express myself and be creative Luckily Matt Belknap came to me with this idea at the perfect time Why do you think people gravitated to free flowing part conversation between friends that is Never Not Funny I like to think they get to feel like they are part of the conversation The way good morning radio is you are involved not just listening to guys doing wacky bits Would you say that is often therapeutic for some We have received countless e mails and even actual letters from people telling us that NNF has made their life better or in some instances saved their life That s a lot for me to wrap my head around but it feels good to be there for someone even if it is by just providing a 90 minute respite from life Youâ ve had a lot of big names on your show over the years Conan Oâ Brien Jon Hamm just to name a few Is there anyone that you personally would love to have on the show if anyone was ready

truly thought believed I had no other option I had sought out help in 1998 The help was inadequate and I was in no place to fight hard for my own well being I was lost Did you ever consider that it was a mental illness causing your emotional and psychological difficulties I not only considered it I knew it deep down but was physically mentally and emotionally incapable of admitting such a fact to myself I was in the darkness and succumbed to the depths of a great depression I was in complete and total denial How did and do you feel about stigma that surrounds mental illnesses I feel that stigma is not a strong enough word to describe pure and simple discrimination We have become a society that values physical bravado a pick yourself up by your bootstraps attitude snap out of it and leave little time for personal grief society We have forgotten that anything can happen to anyone at any given time We have judged when we just needed to empathize and understand When the tourist approached you for a picture it seemed that that was the straw that broke the camel s back Is there anything that you wanted to say to her or to anyone else prior to your attempt that you couldn t manage to say I wish I said these words I need help I think I have to die please help me I wish that level of guidance could have been afforded me as I stood there crying profusely I wish I could have seen a glimmer of hope the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel I wish I saw my future and I wish I knew it was bright How do you cope with stress now vs prior to your suicide attempt I have a detailed 10 step plan that I utilize every single waking day moment where I focus strictly on my personal mental physical and emotional health including a very strict circadian rhythm sleep cycle and rigorous exercise How has your outlook on life changed Every waking moment on this earth is a gift Life is a gift the greatest gift of all No matter if I am hurting mentally or rejoicing happiness it is always a great day to be alive If your suicide attempt had been successful what are all the things you would have missed out on Well no suicide attempt should ever be called successful it should in my opinion be called a Devastating beyond comprehension death by suicide If I had died by suicide I would have missed the last nearly 11 years the laughter the pain meeting the woman of my dreams marrying that woman our first through fourth anniversary The growing of my newly changed beautiful relationships with my parents the ability to write my book I would have missed over a decade which every day feels like a new and oh so wonderful lifetime How do you
